Privacy Policy

a. Account & library information (owners and staff)

• Name, mobile / WhatsApp number, and email address
• Library name and city
• Password (stored only in encrypted / hashed form) and account role

b. Library operational data (entered by owners about their members)

• Student name, phone / WhatsApp number, and joining date
• Seat, room, and shift assignments; exam type
• Monthly fees, dues, and payment records
• Books, expenses, and other day-to-day library records

c. Payment information

• LibrarySetu is free during Beta until 31 August 2026. From 1 September 2026, paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider (Razorpay). We receive confirmation of a payment but do not store your full card or bank details.

d. Usage & device data

• Basic analytics (e.g. Google Analytics): pages visited, approximate location, and device/browser type, used to improve the product
• Cookies used to keep you securely signed in

• To provide and operate the service — accounts, seats, fees, dues, books, and reports
• To send messages via WhatsApp, SMS, or email: sign-in and verification messages, service notices, and — for libraries on the paid plan — fee receipts and due reminders sent to their students through our WhatsApp provider (Wavelo)
• To manage billing and subscriptions (from 1 September 2026)
• To secure, support, and improve LibrarySetu

• By registering, library owners and staff consent to receive account, service, and support messages on the number they provide.
• When a library enables WhatsApp messaging for its students, that library is responsible for having its students’ consent to be contacted.
• Messages are limited to library-related information — no spam and no unrelated third-party marketing.
• Recipients can opt out of promotional messages by replying “STOP” or by contacting their library or us.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run LibrarySetu, under confidentiality:

• Secure cloud hosting and database providers (where your data is stored)
• WhatsApp messaging provider (Wavelo)
• Payment processing (Razorpay), for paid subscriptions
• Analytics (Google Analytics)

We may also disclose information where required by law.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data — encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access limited to you and the team members you add — to guard against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or disclosure.

Personal data is retained while your account or membership is active, or as required by legal and administrative obligations. You may request deletion, subject to any records we are required to keep.

• Withdraw consent for promotional communication

Library owners can view, edit, and delete their students’ records directly in the app. If you are a student, please contact your library first, or reach us using the details below.

LibrarySetu is intended for library owners, staff, and older students. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13, other than details a library records about its own members.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
